North Front

The initial phase of the North Front
scheme was completed in the year 2000. This phase
includes colour changing LED uplighters by Artistic
License, which slowly cycle through a full spectrum of
colours across the arc of in-ground luminaires.
The proposed control system in the initial lighting
concept has not been installed, and only half of the
landscaping scheme has been completed so far. A further
phase of lighting and landscaping works would bring the
scheme down to the Quincentennial Gates on University
Avenue as originally conceived, and the addition of a
dedicated control system would enable more dynamic
lighting effects.
The dark wings of the Main Buildings, seen in the
background of the images to the right, are in the process of
being floodlit.
The Hunter Memorial Layout PDF file below is a copy of
the original setting out drawing for the lighting
scheme.
